Welcoming The Wheelhouse

When Chase and Tami approached us to collaborate on serving pieces for their coffee/bicycle shop concept in the Arts District, we thought it would be a perfect match - and it was! Bicycles have always been a big part of our lives, so we're so proud to be part of this growing community they are creating.

Let's face it, riding a bicycle in Los Angeles can seem pretty scary. Years ago, I had a full-time job in Venice and lived in Silver Lake, and the commute was brutal! I finally had enough and with the encouragement of a fellow coworker who was already commuting between Los Feliz and Venice, I hopped on my bike. Surprisingly, during rush hour it took the same amount of time to drive as it did to ride a bike. Seriously. It was life changing!

When we lived in Portland, OR, me and Jonathan rode our bikes constantly since the city was so extremely bike friendly. Now, Los Angeles has definitely improved on that in recent years, but still has a looong way to go. If you can though, try to squeeze in a small neighborhood ride for local errands or to get dinner or a sweet treat. Seeing Los Angeles on a bike is truly special, and if you need a bike, stop by The Wheelhouse. Chase and Tami can help you out with a stylish ride and a killer cup of coffee!
